Our Work-Study Program is designed to provide the experience of living in an intentional community committed to spiritual growth as we provide space for others to heal and grow. During their stay, participants will assist in the daily operations of Easton Mountain and will be provided with opportunities for spiritual practice during their stay.
We strive to create a peaceful and warm environment on our “campus”. When you join us during your work-study visit, you are part of the staff of Easton Mountain. For all of us on the staff, service to our guests is paramount. This means ensuring that guest needs and requests are accommodated pleasantly and kindly. It also means making sure that each and every guest attending our workshops—regardless of age, background, or body type—feels welcomed and valued.
Work-Study participants help with any number of tasks, although in part we try to connect some of those with individual skills. Daily tasks might include: basic kitchen assistance (including simple food preparation, and dining hall set-up and clean-up); preparing meeting spaces for various workshop sessions; cleaning facilities between programs; providing general office/ clerical support; running various errands; assorted other tasks as needed. Some volunteers help with the administration of Easton Mountain, Inc. through reception, marketing assistance, fundraising administrative support, etc.
In return we offer the chance for participants to pursue their own spiritual goals. When possible, they may attend yoga classes, meditations, or other rituals that are not specific to the programs in session. You will have full use of the facilities, including pool, hot tub, sauna, and hiking trails during those times when workshop groups are not using those facilities. Healthy and tasty meals are provided, as well as shared housing.
The purpose of this application form is to help determine whether your participation in the Work-Study program would be of mutual benefit to you and Easton Mountain. We are seeking to establish an understanding of who you are, and to clarify your understanding of who we are. Due to Easton Mountain’s remote location and population, people’s ability to interact with fellow volunteers, supervisors, staff, and guests may be uniquely challenged. Please do your best to provide the requested information as it pertains to you. It is unnecessary to provide lengthy descriptions but rather clear and concise information.
